Business computing is the application of various technologies to meet the requirements of business information. It is a hybrid between the fields of computer science and business and could include some aspects of advanced computing. Graduates can find jobs in the world of business, working on technical and computing matters or in the IT field.
The course is firmly grounded in the real world and features guest lecturers from industry and engineering partners sharing their perspectives on real-life business issues. Students will be able to develop real-world assignments which will help you apply your technological abilities to real-world problems. You will be able to develop a wide range of business and IT abilities over the course of four years beginning with the creation of software and learning to analyse data with the intention of delivering innovative solutions to companies.
In your first year, you’ll be exploring topics like marketing and accounting as well as gain hands-on exposure to the latest IT and computing technologies. You’ll build your IT and business knowledge to prepare for your placement year. It could be on campus or in one of our many partner companies across Kent and London. You’ll graduate with a unique combination of business and IT knowledge that can lead to many possibilities in career fields such as web development, software development, customer service and data analytics. Former graduates have been employed by companies such as Accenture, BP, FDM and Spotify.
